Gobble, Gobble

This past week members of the 402 AC put together some solid workouts. Kevin is giddy with the coming of snow after roller skiing 8,000 hours this summer, he can't wait to get those skinny skis waxed up. Rob's pace continues to creep down near 6:30 on his regular training runs (according to his watch)... Phil ripped of a nice 1600-400 x 2 and Jamie and Eric hit a nice track workout at West Sr High followed by a soggy tempo on the Leelanau Trail. The Sunday long run 8 miles with 10 mile effort was cold (frickin' cold according to some witnesses). Jeb.....

Turkey Trot is this Thursday! Be there.

Remember what happens at Dick's Pour House, stays at Dick's Pour House.

Don we now our gay apparel...

'tis the season for further discussions about apparel. As we know it is the clothes that make the man (or woman). Since 100% of recent blog post comments have been about apparel, it is time to get moving. The goal is to get a handful of nice apparel items out there for the competitors and our fearless fan(s).

Rob is coordinating with Jamie on some new trucker cap ideas... trying to keep the quality high but the price down. I am working on some casual pre and post-race pieces that I think everyone will enjoy (see: hoodies).

Next time you see Jamie please let him know your size and they type of apparel you would be interested in having in your wardrobe and we will start to make it happen. (Courtney you may have to borrow a shirt for cheering at the Turkey Trot).

Shout out to Phil Stead who provided some excellent post-run hot cocoa after a blustery run in Lake Leelanau!

402s represent at Vasa Trail Run

On Saturday November 12th certain members of 402 AC competed in the annual Vasa Trail Run. In her return to competitive action Annie Somerville dominated the 10k, crushing all-comers. "Great to see Annie out there killing it'" said teammate Eric Houghton upon seeing the results.

Eric and Jamie ducked major competition from PlayMakers and Kyle Kiel and opted for the 10k. "Good move on our part," exclaimed Jamie "no way we could have kept up with Kyle and his arm band loaded with Katie Perry tunes."

Next up for the club will be the annual Traverse City Turkey Trot. Will this mean the return of C-Sutt to the mean streets of TC? We can hope....

402 Running Club is now 402 AC

At its first official meeting last month, the Board and Members of the 402 Running Club voted to change its official name to the 402 Athletic Club. "This name incorporates all of our many adventures  and events" stated self-proclaimed club President James I. Somerville, "plus this allows Kevin to continue to be in the club."

Many other somewhat important things were discussed in a semi-formal setting and the group promises to meet more often, including participating in club functions such as dinners and a few common race events.

The next official team race will be the Farmland 5K, to be held at the Rasho Farm on Saturday December 3rd. Member Rob Slatehas chosen to partake in the event with another club and while frowned upon the other members will allow it this time.

After the event the team will gather together at a location TBD, maybe Stone's house.

Correction: in the original post Rob Slate was mistakenly referred to as Rob Stone. He is not however Jeb's little brother nor his cousin.
